2026 (ongoing project)
This is an ongoing project centred around a small area of land located at the edge of Minchinhampton Common in the Stroud Valleys.
This is the first project where I have chosen a physical location with the intent of creating a body of work that speaks of the environmental characteristics of the site as well as it’s human and non-human histories. To-date this project has involved experimenting with wild clay from the area and assessing it’s potential as a raw material as, a clay, a slip and a glaze. I have also been studying the geology and topology of this location and researching the associated local quarrying and textile industries that occur within the Stroud Valleys.
